What You'll Experience

This is not a demonstration — this is a seat at our family table, with a table full of mithai you made yourself.

Welcome to our home in Jaipur! We are Balram & Ritu, and we’ll welcome you with a big smile and a refreshing welcome drink. Over chai, we’ll share stories of how every Indian festival is incomplete without mithai, why Dadiji never measured sugar, and the secrets of making soft, juicy Gulab Jamuns that don't break in oil.

Then we roll up our sleeves. This is 100% hands-on. You will learn the art of 3 desserts from scratch — from kneading perfect jamun dough to slow-roasting suji until aromatic and simmering milk for creamy kheer.

No experience needed. We guide you at every step, laugh a lot, and make sure your halwa never burns and your jamuns puff up perfectly golden.

After cooking, we all sit together and feast on the warm desserts you created, with crispy vegetable pakoras and masala chai. It’s more than a cooking class — it’s a celebration.

You’ll leave with a full belly, new friends, and our Lifetime Dessert Recipe Pack so you can make Jaipur mithai at home.

Absolutely! 90% of our guests have never made Gulab Jamun before. We teach you the 3 secrets of mithai — perfect dough consistency, right sugar syrup (chashni) temperature, and ghee-roasting. We guide you at every step. Kids 8+ are welcome with an adult.

We are a 100% vegetarian family. All desserts are made in pure ghee. They contain dairy (milk, khoya, ghee), sugar, nuts (cashew, almond, raisin) and gluten (suji). We can make nut-free, less-sweet, and low-dairy versions on request — just inform us at the time of booking so we can prepare. Vegan version not possible for Gulab Jamun as it needs khoya.

It depends on season and freshest ingredients:
Nov to Feb: Gajar ka Halwa (winter red carrots)
Mar to Oct: Suji ka Halwa (classic festive semolina halwa) If you have a strong preference, mention it in booking notes — we will try our best to arrange it.

We balance it like Indians do! After making mithai, we fry hot, crispy vegetable pakoras and brew masala chai together. So you enjoy mithai + namkeen + chai — not just sweets. You can also pack some dessert to take back to your hotel.
